It was wonderful to see the different photos and read the stories. David was a very special person, kind and gentle and I shall miss him enormously. vicky

I'm so glad I was able to be there for the service this morning, even if only on-line. Such great memories of David to take away - well done for putting those together Hazel and Maureen, and thank you for making it possible to be there virtually. My memories of David are very much bound up with visits to Lodge Farm, a place (to the small thing I was) of endless mystery and unexplored territory, with David and Helen the warm, kind and gently, wryly humerous presence at the warm kitchen heart of the place around the aga. Good times.

Thank you to everyone who came to a freezing cold Westerleigh this morning and to all who watched online. We really appreciate your support. Thanks for the additions to this site too, I am really enjoying seeing them - keep them coming!

David's service was lovely, so interesting to hear all the wonderful stories about his life and look through all these photos. With love, Emma

I was David's neighbour and I remember trying to convince him to let me help him carry his shopping up the hill when he was struggling one day. He eventually let me and we used to have a lovely time walking back from the shops together, chatting about all manner of things. I miss our chats, he had fantastic stories to tell. A lovely, kind, funny, decent gentleman. Mel and family x
